The K2 - Technical Data
Technical SpecificationThe K2’s three key components of the hull are a neoprene rubber compound for the hinge material, reinforced PVC material for the ends, and fibreglass panels. The two hull ‘floor’ panels also contain a foam sandwich for added rigidity and reduced weight. The weight and dimensions are as follows (note these can vary slightly from boat to boat, due to the nature of the materials used).
How the K2 is made4 main hull parts (i.e. sides & floor panels) are cold moulded to achieve a moulded gel coated finish on both sides, including a non-slip pattern on the floor panels. All the other moulds a further 10 are laid up in the traditional fashion. The hull sections are attached to the neoprene rubber hinge using special adhesives and a custom made jig. Our sailing component suppliers include RWO, Jack Holt & Plastimo/Navimo. Our sails are made by Jeckells of Wroxham. Links |
